For many women, pregnancy is a time of joy and excitement. However, it is also a time when you need to take extra care of yourself and your baby. Here are some important do’s and don’ts for pregnant women:

Do:
- eat a healthy diet including plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains
- get regular exercise
- take prenatal vitamins
- get enough rest
- avoid alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs
Don’t:
- eat raw or undercooked meats or fish
- drink unpasteurized milk or juices
- handle cat litter or other potentially toxoplasmosis-infected materials (wear gloves when gardening)
