Pregnancy Do’s and Don’ts

For many women, pregnancy is a time of joy and excitement. However, it is also a time when you need to take extra care of yourself and your baby. Here are some important do’s and don’ts for pregnant women:

Do:

  • eat a healthy diet including plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains
  • get regular exercise
  • take prenatal vitamins
  • get enough rest
  • avoid alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs

Don’t:

  • eat raw or undercooked meats or fish
  • drink unpasteurized milk or juices
  • handle cat litter or other potentially toxoplasmosis-infected materials (wear gloves when gardening)
